Founded in 1967, Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Habitat seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat has built over 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in 3,000 communities. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses.
The Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter at Columbus follows the mission of the organization to provide decent shelter for the deserving people of our community. Working alongside Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, Ransom Everglades, Florida International University, University of Miami, and Barry University as well as the Greater Miami Habitat Affiliate, our campus chapter works, fundraises, educates, and supports Habitat to make its mission a reality.
