The World Language Club is open to all C.C.H.S. students who are currently studying a foreign language or who are interested in studying different languages and cultures. Through community services, tutoring and cultural activities (fiestas, field trips, etc.) the club celebrates and promotes continuing interest in World studies, customs, languages and traditions. Our goals are primarily to stimulate an enthusiastic interest in ethnic diversity and to nurture an appreciation for whatever culture is being studied. Students are encouraged to share what they learn by participating in foreign exchange programs, foreign films, lectures, and craft activities. The World language Club also encourages its members to plan and initiate activities within the community to increase cultural awareness. Columbus members have joined Our Lady of Lourdes’ and St. Brendan’s Spanish Club members in many social activities such as local restaurant dinners, picnics, etc. Members also hold an annual toy drive for Christmas and they help less fortunate families with annual Thanksgiving dinners.
